A Message From Our CEO

(August 10, 2021)

As we all find ourselves in unprecedented times, we are taking steps to reduce the risks to our associates, customers, suppliers and our industry.  The transportation industry is vital to keep supplies moving; medical equipment, personal protection equipment, food and household items, to name a few.  We are committed to the health and safety of our employees and their families and ensuring that our products remain available to support the critical infrastructure needs around the globe.

We are:

  • Expediting shipments to customers to meet critical deadlines
  • Ensuring product is strategically located to meet critical transportation infrastructure
  • Monitoring every site and following all recommended practices
  • Continually assessing risks related to variants and changing governmental guidelines

Our manufacturing facilities continue to operate safely while following all recommended guidelines, including, but not limited to:

  • Checking temperatures as associates arrive for work
  • Requiring social distancing and face masks per the guidelines
  • Staggering break times and lunches to maintain safe occupancy in common areas
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting

We continue to be disciplined and agile in this changing environment while maintaining on-time delivery to our customers. We can also be proud of the fact that our wheels are moving COVID-19 vaccines around the countries in which we work.

I appreciate all the hard work and the diligence from the whole Accuride team to maintained our safety throughout 2020, and although with the vaccine approvals, we are only at the beginning of the end and we have to maintain our efforts throughout 2021.

- Robin Kendrick

Important Safety Information

Accuride is aggressively focused on Prevention, Communications, and Actions. The following are just a few of the steps we've taken.

PREVENTION

  • Identified possible work-related exposures, health risks or areas of risk to our employees.
  • Assessed each operation to ensure there is an adequate supply of soap and hand sanitizer available at all high touch areas.
  • Implemented all governmental guidelines, including temperature checks, social distancing and enhanced cleaning and disinfecting.

COMMUNICATION

  • Communicated with local health departments to verify channels of communication and methods for dissemination of local outbreak information.
  • Assessed Human Resources policies to ensure that policies and practices are consistent with public health recommendations and consistent with the existing (and changing) workplace regulations.
  • Implemented flexible worksites (e.g., home office) and flexible work hours (e.g., staggered shifts), to increase the physical distance between employees.  Employees continue to work from home if they can do so.

ACTIONS

  • Monitoring essential business functions and critical elements within our supply chain (e.g., raw materials, suppliers, subcontractor services/products, and logistics) relative to what is required to maintain business operations. Plans are in place to operate the business if there is an increase in absenteeism or if supply chains are interrupted.
  • Assessed the potential business impact if it were necessary to implement modified production practices related to increased absenteeism due to increases in employee illness or increased need to care for sick family members. Flexible workplace and leave policies will be implemented where feasible.
  • Social distancing protocols have been established at all locations. Meetings have either been canceled or held utilizing strict social distancing protocols.
  • All business travel has been canceled.
  • Non-essential visitors are not permitted at company locations.
  • Operation score cards created for each production facility and updated daily.
  • Constant communication and business updates are being shared with our teams via an internal portal.
  • Operational guidelines have been updated.
  • Return to work (RTW) guidelines have been developed for office locations.
