Program Manager

Basic Purpose
This position is located in Erie, PA and has the following responsibilities: Oversee the planning and execution of major 
capital programs for the wheel business unit facilities. Support in the development of the Wheels capex budget and oversee its implementation throughout each budget year.
 

Principal Accountabilities
1. Lead, direct and develop project teams to deliver program charters, financials, timelines, resources, budgets and key action plans for each program.
2. Clearly identify program roadblocks and help required to achieve goals.
3.  Develop, implement, and direct an effective program management system, in support of and in compliance with, Accuride’s APQP system to assure timely and effective introduction of new product or process programs meeting all customer expectations.
4. Enhance program governance process to ensure deliverables are achieved.
5. Communicate program status to Plant Leadership and Executive Team.
6. Organize periodic Program Team, Functional and Executive reviews with all key stakeholders.
7. Support the development of the corporate-wide wheels five-year capex budget and follow-up to ensure spending is timely and within budget.
8.  Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance lead-time capability in the area of concept-to-market commercialization by increasing focus on meeting key project milestones, proactively addressing problems or schedule slippage issues, improving communications between functional areas and management, and improving visibility on program status and roadblocks.
9. Maintain technical knowledge of leading program management tools and techniques.
10. Develop and maintain a professional liaison with Accuride key equipment suppliers.

 

Required Skills, Education, and Experience
•  BS or MS degree in engineering; PMP certification preferred
•  Eight to ten years of program management experience
•  Strong ability to plan at both strategic and operational levels
•  Strong project management skills to manage and coordinate extensive internal and external project resources
•  Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing philosophies, operations, processes and related technologies
•  Comprehensive knowledge of engineering processes, manufacturing equipment design, and equipment and facility maintenance systems and processes
•  Extensive knowledge of quality systems and processes
•  Excellent understanding and ability to manage capital and expense budgets
•  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required when dealing with internal and external customers
•  Ability to track and organize multiple projects
•  Strong leadership skills with a commitment to teaming and employee involvement
