Millwright

Primary Function: Primarily responsible for installing, repairing, constructing, and maintaining
plant equipment and facilities.

Tools and Equipment: Wrenches, hammers, pliers, oxy-acetylene welding equipment, tips, rods, 
gloves, shields, rags, cranes, fork trucks, fire extinguishers, hand tools, standard control 
charts, power tools, air tools, hydraulic tools, hydraulic jacks, man lifts, oil & waste handling 
equipment, lubrication equipment, gauges, computers, PLC interface devices, keypad and touch screen 
control panels, robots, teach pendant, safety equipment, and other tools and equipment necessary 
for the performance of the job.

Materials Handled: Machine parts, metal pipe, rubber hose, cables, ropes, slings, chains, jacks, 
pipe valves, fittings, pump parts, hydraulic packing, water soluble oil, lubricating oil, paints, 
waste materials, chemicals, thermocouples, spare parts, greases, oils, and other
materials as assigned.

Working Procedures:
1. Performs all work in a manner that conforms to safety and environmental policies of the Company.
2. Maintains belt conveyors; bearing systems; belts and sheaves; blowers/fans; pumps; control 
valves; couplings and drive components; gears and gearboxes; hydraulic/pneumatic power transmission 
systems; hydraulic/pneumatic control systems; material handling systems; compressed air systems; 
cooling water systems; guarding; seals; lubrication systems; hoists, balancers and lifting devices; 
building/facilities equipment; fork trucks and air handling systems.
3. Operates shop equipment; mobile cranes; hydraulic hose crimping machines; hydraulic hose cutoff 
and skive machines; man lifts; fork trucks; overhead cranes and hoists; welders and cutting equipment.
4. Performs lubrication and greasing of equipment or components as assigned.
5. Completes documentation, checklists, work orders, and other records as required.
6. Keeps working area in a clean and orderly condition.
7. Ensures waste material is placed in proper containers and is labeled accordingly.
8. Adheres to all ISO and IATF standards and procedures.
9. Assists or performs training of other personnel on job duties as directed by Supervisor.
10. Works with personal computers, operator interface, and other PLC interface devices as required.
11. Performs preventive, predictive, and repetitive maintenance on equipment and components as required.
12. Reads and interprets mechanical blueprints, sketches and charts, to install, remove, repair and 
maintain plant machinery and equipment.
13. Installs or removes any component required to maintain or repair equipment, facilities, or support systems.
14. Performs assembly work as assigned by Supervisor.
15. Performs basic failure analysis on all equipment as required.
16. Aligns machinery using dual dial indicator.
17. Performs gasket fabrication.
18. Performs mathematical calculations as needed.

19. Performs precision measurements (calipers).
20. Performs duties with a minimum of supervision.
21. Operates and adjusts operations of robots as required.
22. Does rigging as required.
23. Inspects and maintains cranes as required.
24. Performs maintenance, repair, painting, fabricating, welding, remodeling, and construction on a 
variety of metal and wood products from samples and sketches.
25. Takes measurements using tapes, transits, levels, etc.
26. Checks, cleans and services equipment, pumps, power tools, etc.
27. Lays out, fits and welds structural steel, aluminum, cast iron, stainless steel, etc. to 
fabricate, repair and install tools, parts, equipment, etc.
28. Cuts out and replaces sections of pipe, valves, etc. using cutting torches and welding equipment.
29. Works on plumbing, compressed air, ventilation, and hydraulic systems.
30. Performs any welding, brazing, or cutting work required on any plant equipment or in new construction.
31. Uses torch to bend, straighten, anneal and temper material or as required by production.
32. Transports equipment and materials to and from job.
33. Makes necessary adjustments to tongs, fabricates hooks, brackets, pipe hangers, etc., performs 
miscellaneous bending, forming and fabricating.
34. Performs other duties conducive to assuring optimum productivity within the Plant as the
need arises, and other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
